Where Bitcoin meets AI
I run a live, fully automated trading bot on Hyperliquid perpetuals with real money. Version 2 went live on October 6, 2026 — a slow, rules-based swing strategy: when the 20-day moving average crosses the 50-day on BTC or ETH, it enters. Stop at 3× ATR, target at 6× ATR, 5% of equity risked per trade, never more than 2× leverage. A handful of trades a month, not a hundred.
Why V2 exists: Version 1 was a range mean-reversion bot that ran June–October 2026 and executed 99 trades. It stayed alive, it never blew up — and it never made money. 0.3% scalps minus fees is a treadmill. I retired it and published that result instead of hiding it. The new track record starts from zero on this page.
Here's what I learned: Bot profitability isn't just about strategy. It's about infrastructure. VPS downtime = missed trades. API latency = bad fills. SSH failures = no monitoring. Cheap hosting = bot crashes at 3am when volatility spikes.
I went through multiple VPS providers before finding setups that actually work for algo trading. The lessons weren't theoretical—they came from debugging production issues at 3am, recovering from network failures, and optimizing order execution timing. That hands-on experience is what drives my VPS comparison guides.
"A bot that trades 100 times and goes nowhere taught me more than any backtest. V2 trades less, risks a defined amount, and lets the trend do the work."

An automated trading system built by Scott using AI tools — no coding background. Version 2 (live since Oct 6, 2026) trades BTC and ETH on Hyperliquid using a 20/50-day moving-average cross with fixed ATR stops and targets. It trades real money, every trade is public, and it is a live demonstration of disciplined rules — not a guaranteed return product. Version 1 (a range bot, 99 trades, Jun–Oct 2026) was retired because it did not make money.
